7 Questions to Ask a Real Estate Agent When Looking at Homes!

The home buying process can be overwhelming and intimidating. There is a lot to think about when you’re looking to buy residential plots in Bahria enclave, and many questions that need answers.

So this is definitely something you want to go over before buying a new home.

2.  Is There a Security System, and If So, Can I See it at Work?

Unless you are planning on moving into your dream home immediately after closing day – chances are you will be coming back to visit often.

And maybe even overnight guests who want to feel safe!

It can be extremely reassuring to check out the neighborhood crime reports before deciding on an area of town that feels right for you – but this information won’t exist unless your real estate agent shares it with you up front.

If they don’t believe the area is as safe as you might be looking for – ask why.

In some cases, it could be a property condition that your real estate agent is aware of, but isn’t going to share with you.

3.  What’s Your Opinion on How “Green” or Environmentally-friendly This Property is?

If you are a more green conscious buyer, there may be some questions that come up while looking at homes which can help you determine whether or not a particular home will work for your needs.

Your real estate agent should have knowledge about the energy efficiency of the home. If they don’t know – ask them to find out!

In many cases, buyers will get offered incentives from their utility company for having a more efficient household so it’s definitely something worth asking your real estate agent during the viewing of a home.

4.  How Long has the Agent been in Business and How Many Homes Have They Sold?

As far as we’re concerned, this is one of the most important questions you can ask your real estate agent.

This will not only give you an idea of the quality of their service – but it will also allow you to get a sense of if they would be available to answer your calls after closing day should any issues come up with the property at a later date!

Real estate agents who have been in business for decades and understand all the ins and outs of every neighborhood.

It may not necessarily be easier to reach once things settle down post-closing. So if that’s something that is important during the house hunting process – make sure to ask.

5) What are the Neighborhood Demographics Like (Crime Rate, Schools, Hospitals etc.)?

Some buyers will want to choose a home that fits well within their budget but also lives in an area that is close to things like public transportation, shopping and other conveniences.

Others may be more interested in living near family or friends for support and proximity plays an important role as well.

Either way – your real estate agent should have knowledge about crime rates, local school performance and other factors which affect the overall livability of a neighborhood.

You should always feel comfortable asking questions regarding the neighborhood you’re looking at purchasing a home so if they can’t give you solid information on this front – find someone who can!

6) What is the Average Price Per Square Foot of Houses in This Area?

While it would be nice to have a real estate agent who can give us a ballpark figure in all situations, sometimes you just need a number to work with.

What might take several hours of research time in order to find out – your real estate agent should have this information on hand so they can provide you with an answer.
